More About PRP

Platelet-rich plasma is a concentration of platelets and growth factors that are derived from your own blood. This concentration is then injected into specific areas to encourage healing and regeneration

PRP has been used for years in medicine to treat various conditions, including joint pain, tendonitis, and injuries. Recently, PRP has become popular in the aesthetic world as well, as it can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including wrinkles and laxity, and can even effectively treat hair loss. But platelets for a better orgasm? That’s right – with the Supernova Shot!

What are Growth Factors?

Growth factors are proteins that play a vital role in the healing process. When injected into the vaginal tissue, they can help to rejuvenate the site and improve sexual function.

The Supernova Shot specifically uses PRP to increase sexual health in women. The platelets and growth factors in PRP work to stimulate new cell growth and improve blood flow in the treated area, leading to improved sensation and vaginal health.

The Supernova Shot can address many common concerns that are often linked to a natural thinning of the vaginal tissues caused by poor collagen levels. Collagen is a substance that naturally breaks down in the body. The body produces enough collagen in younger women to replace what is lost. Aging and pregnancy, though, create hormone imbalances and collagen loss, which thins the tissues. The Supernova Shot relies on growth factors to stimulate collagen production and thicken vaginal tissues.

How Can I Increase My Sexual Function?

Supernova Shot is a PRP treatment for women that increases orgasms and sexual satisfaction and addresses many feminine health issues. In a clinical trial, 94% of participants were satisfied with the improvement in their sexual function after just one treatment. [1]

But how does PRP increase sexual function? By injecting platelet-rich plasma in various intimate areas, pluripotent stem cells rejuvenate and even enhance damaged or undamaged tissue.

PRP Treatment for Urinary and Fecal Incontinence

Approximately 20% of adult women suffer from stress urinary incontinence (SUI), a significant health problem that greatly affects their daily lives and well-being. While more research is needed to address SUI with PRP specifically, The Supernova Shot is rich in growth factors and cytokines, which help to promote tissue regeneration. It has been studied extensively among trauma patients and experimental trauma models, particularly utilizing the Supernova Shot. [2]

The Supernova Shot for Vaginal Dryness

When the Supernova Shot is injected intravaginally and intra-clitorally, PRP injections can treat certain types of female sexual dysfunction, including lubrication. [3]

Treatment for Lichen Planus and Lichen Sclerosis

Lichen planus and lichen sclerosis are skin conditions that can affect both men and women. The affected areas are usually genital and anal but can appear in other areas of the body. The Supernova Shot® is an effective treatment for both lichen planus and lichen sclerosis.[4][5]

What Causes Vaginal Pain?

The lower one-third of the vaginal wall has many nerves, which makes it more susceptible to pressure than other parts of the vagina. PRP can increase collagen formation and neovascularization in this area, relieving pain during intercourse. [6]

A Quick and Easy Treatment for Chronic Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial cystitis (IC) is a chronic condition that can cause pelvic pain, urinary frequency and urgency, and sexual dysfunction. The Supernova Shot has been shown to be an effective treatment for IC, with patients reporting significant improvements in symptoms after a series of treatments. [7]

If you are interested in learning more about the Supernova Shot, contact Dr. Joshua Baker at The Retreat Restorative & Aesthetics today. He can help you experience the many benefits of this advanced therapy.

Am I A Candidate for the Supernova Shot?

Supernova Shot works best for women with certain types of feminine issues, such as:

  • Pain during intercourse
  • Orgasm disorders
  • Arousal disorders
  • Low sex drive

Additionally, women with incontinence and bladder issues are great candidates for this treatment, as are those with episiotomy scars and the skin issues listed above.

Personal Consultation

During your initial consultation, Dr. Baker will review your medical history and current health to determine if Supernova Shot is right for you. He will also answer any questions about the treatment and what you can expect during and after the procedure. In addition, Dr. Baker will examine you to determine the best placement of the injections.

No special preparation is required for Supernova Shot.

The Supernova Shot Procedure

Many patients describe the procedure as simple and comfortable. First, we will draw a small amount of blood from your vein. We will then process the blood in a centrifuge to separate the components, preserving the plasma layer for the Supernova Shot.

Before injections, a numbing cream will be applied to increase your comfort level. Then, Dr. Baker will inject the plasma at several points in the vaginal tissues based on your concerns, including the clitoris, pubo-cervical fascia, G spot, and Skene’s glands. [1]

During your consultation, Dr. Baker will determine the number of treatment sessions your case requires.

Recovery

There is no recovery period after your Orgasm Shot treatment, but you should avoid sexual activity, tampons, or douching for at least 24 hours after receiving the Supernova Shot. You may experience mild bruising or swelling in the treatment area, but this should resolve within a few days. Use a cold compress to relieve any discomfort.

Dr. Baker will schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor your progress and evaluate for any Supernova Shot complications, which are rare.

Results

The changes you see and feel after Supernova Shot treatments take up to three months to reveal fully and may last up to two years. The results are long-lasting but not permanent; you can schedule additional sessions as needed to maintain your results.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

Many clients choose to combine the Supernova shot with one of our popular women’s health treatments designed to address vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence or pelvic floor weakness. Empower RF’s FormaV, Morpheus8V and V-Tone are all complementary energy-based technologies.

Dr. Baker and his staff offer a range of procedures to address concerns of the face, body, and beyond. In addition, QuantumBody uses a minimally invasive, robotically controlled cannula for precise body sculpting.

Dr. Baker is also a skilled injector of dermal fillers such as Juvéderm, Restylane, and Radiesse, which can temporarily restore volume to the face, reduce wrinkles, or enhance the lips. In addition, he frequently uses Kybella to improve the appearance of a double chin and jowls by destroying fat cells.

Other popular procedures at The Retreat include the Fusion Facelift, Celluma LED Light Therapy, and microneedling radiofrequency.
