Microneedling

Microneedling Dallas, TX

Microneedling is a technique that relies on the body’s natural healing processes. The microneedling device makes tiny micro-injuries in the skin that trigger the body to produce collagen fibers. These fibers heal the wounds and provide a much-needed support system for aged and damaged skin. Dr. Baker recommends microneedling for:

  • Fine lines
  • Superficial scars, such as those caused by acne
  • Stretch marks
  • Irregular pigmentation
  • Lax skin
  • Large pores
  • Age spots and brown spots
  • Rough texture

Cost

The Retreat Restorative & Aesthetics offers free consultations with Dr. Joshua Baker, so you can find out if microneedling is your best option as well as other details, such as the cost of treatment. We also explain our financing options through CareCredit®, LendingUSA® and GreenSky®. The starting cost of our microneedling is dependent on the condition of your skin, the size of your treatment area and the number of treatments needed to help you achieve your desired results.

Procedure

Microneedling is performed with a device that has a series of tiny needles. The needles penetrate the skin, and there is little to no discomfort. If you are having microneedling with PRP, the next step is to extract a small amount of your blood, process it, and apply it to the microneedling treatment area by injecting the PRP or applying it to the surface of the skin.

We also offer radio frequency microneedling with the Morpheus8 system.

Candidates

Microneedling is a good option for most skin types that have superficial flaws. The procedure can be performed on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. These women often opt for microneedling stretch marks in combination with their facial rejuvenation treatments.

Recovery

Recovery after microneedling is minimal. The microinjuries are so small that bleeding does not occur. If you do have bleeding, it is pinpoint in size and stops very soon after the procedure. Your skin may slightly red and feel a little sensitive for the first few days.

Results

Microneedling works by stimulating collagen production. It will not stop the aging process, so your body continues to break down collagen in the skin. The results may last for several months or more than one year, depending on many factors.
