About Neck & Facial Rejuvenation
As we age, things do start to head south. What once was tight and firm is now feeling a little loose and lined. Areas that used to have elegant angles are a little more amorphous. What happened?
The components that make our skin firm and tight include collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, among others. Collagen is key and makes up the bulk of the matrix under the surface of our skin. Unfortunately, the amount of collagen in our dermis decreases with age. Heading deeper into the layers of our skin, we find the hypodermis, which is mostly made up of fat, and also changes with age. The fat that gives us plump cheeks and voluminous lips decreases over the years, while the fat that hangs around our midsection increases.
One of the most dreaded features of aging isn’t wrinkles, it’s submental fat, also known as double chin or “turkey waddle.” It’s often genetic and resistant to diet and exercise. In fact, according to a survey conducted by The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, 73% of the 7,322 people surveyed said they were bothered by excess fat under their chin and neck.
But just because it’s natural doesn’t mean we have to like it! Everyone deserves to feel their very best, regardless of their age. Today’s aesthetic procedures and technology let us do just that. There’s no shortage of facial rejuvenation procedures and products available today. At a certain point, creams just won’t cut it. Today, there’s a better way: QuantumFace.
What Does QuantumFace Do?
QuantumFace works underneath the skin to tighten and contour by targeting the very components that lead to the appearance of aging, all through entry points the size of the tip of a pen.
QuantumFace starts by using the latest liposuction technology to gently remove submental fat and the fat along the jawline. Unlike traditional liposuction, Quantum Body’s liposuction technology utilizes a robotically controlled, ultra-thin cannula to gently and precisely remove fat. This advanced accuracy allows Dr. Baker to sculpt youthful contours. Patients are able to enjoy better jawline definition, the restored angles of their chin, and the appearance of a lifted neck.
One of the biggest issues with fat removal is that it does nothing to address the lax skin that is left when a volume of fat is removed. When you also factor in the loose skin that accompanies the aging process, it’s no wonder that until now, patients were content to have the extra skin surgically removed, and deal with the resulting scars and long surgical recovery.
This was not acceptable to Dr. Baker, who embarked on his medical vocation at an impressively young age, knew that there had to be a better way.
Tightening Up
After unwanted fat is removed, QuantumFace’s next task is to tighten the skin for a firmer, more youthful neck and face. QuantumFace applies radiofrequency energy beneath the skin.
This energy creates a thermal effect that causes the existing collagen to thicken and contract, drawing the skin inwards and upwards. It also signals the body to initiate its healing abilities. (3) The treated area is triggered to produce new collagen, blood vessels, and elastin for thicker, firmer, tighter, and healthier skin.
