Woman admiring Hydrafacial treatment. Dr. Joshua Baker Hydrafacial Dallas, TX.

A Hydrafacial is a patented medical-grade facial treatment that improves skin tone, texture, and appearance with simultaneous deep cleaning, exfoliation, and hydration. Additionally, the procedure helps to treat common skin issues such as dry or dull skin, and acne. The Hydrafacial utilizes a mechanized wand for cleansing, extraction, and infusion of serums into the skin for a rejuvenated complexion. Treatment can be customized to each patient’s skin type.

Perhaps you love the traditional spa facial, but you want more dramatic results. Maybe each treatment refreshes your complexion, but over time, you’ve noticed that the results have plateaued. Hydrafacial allows for deeper penetration of nourishing serums to leave your skin with a dewier appearance. A Hydrafacial can help you to achieve a soft, clear complexion.

Dr. Joshua Baker and the team of The Retreat Restorative and Aesthetics help women and men rejuvenate their facial appearance with today’s most advanced aesthetic treatments – like Hydrafacial! With regular treatments, patients can experience improvement in acne, hyperpigmentation, texture, and tone. About

Hydrafacial is a popular treatment because it’s fast and versatile. This treatment uses “hydradermabrasion:” a combination of oxygen and aqueous solutions that are applied to the skin at supersonic speeds to remove debris, exfoliate, and moisturize. Other exfoliation techniques like microdermabrasion are also effective, but because they use microparticles, the outer layer of skin is simply abraded away, without simultaneous hydration. That’s not the only thing that sets Hydrafacial in a class of its own! Hydrafacial treatments are administered by a technician using a pen-like handpiece. This handpiece uses exclusive Vortex Fusion technology to create the gentle suction that extracts dirt to clear pores so that nourishing serums can be better absorbed by the skin. And there’s a reason skin looks so healthy after Hydrafacials: it is! Studies have shown that hydradermabrasion actually improves the structural makeup of the skin on a cellular level. One study found that 6 weeks after treatment, skin was thicker and had higher levels of antioxidants. There were also higher levels of fibroblasts – the important cells that produce collagen and elastin. The higher levels of collagen that were also found in the skin that had been treated led to reduced fine lines, smaller pore size, and more even skin tone.(1)  Imagine all those benefits in a relaxing, spa-like treatment!

There are three components that make the Hydrafacial system so effective:

  • Deep Cleansing: The HydraPeel Tip gently exfoliates the skin’s surface to remove dead skin cells to reveal a healthier layer of skin. The jet of micro-droplets is propelled at a supersonic speed, creating just enough pressure on the skin to penetrate the outer layers for a deeper clean and effective hydration.(1)
  • Gentle Extractions: Gentle suction extracts blackheads, oil, dirt, and other impurities from the pores.
  • Meaningful Hydration: The handpiece infuses hydrating, plumping serums to the skin. There are a variety of serums that patients can choose from depending on their unique skin concerns, but all contain essential antioxidants for cellular health.

What Can Hydrafacials Treat?

Hydrafacials are incredibly versatile, and can even be used comfortably by patients with sensitive skin, and darker skin types that risk changes in pigmentation from other treatments like laser resurfacing or certain chemical peels. The Hydrafacial can treat any skin tone and patients of any age. Healthy skin is for everyone! And, with a variety of nourishing booster serums to choose from, your treatment is tailored to each patient’s unique skin needs.

Hydrafacials can improve:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Acne
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Dull and dry skin
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Complexions of all tones

The face isn’t the only place that a Hydrafacial can be performed. Patients who suffer from acne breakouts on other areas of their body, like the back, can have a Hydrafacial treatment performed to help clear up areas prone to clogged pores and acne. It’s also a great way to revitalize skin in the decolletage, which often shows signs of premature aging, and can benefit from this nourishing, skin-firming treatment.

Preparation

Following preparation guidelines closely will ensure that you attain the best results possible from your Hydrafacial procedure. To prepare, we advise the following:

  • Allow adequate time after other skin treatments such as deep chemical peels, laser treatments, and injection sessions.
  • Avoid tanning and sun exposure to avoid irritation.
  • Two days prior, stop using exfoliating products, waxing products, depilatories, and over-the-counter acne medications.
  • The day of treatment, avoid shaving.

Procedure

The Hydrafacial cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates. Your aesthetic technician will apply the HydraPeel Tip handpiece across the skin’s surface. This handpiece is connected to a computer platform that can be programmed to customize your treatment, ensuring the most efficient and effective treatment possible!

Step 1: Cleansing and Exfoliation
The HydraPeel Tip and Vortex Fusion technology gently cleanses and exfoliates the top layer of skin. This opens up pores and removes makeup residue, impurities. A clean surface leads to a natural glow without debris clogging the pores.

Step 3: Extraction
From here, the wand will use a patented Vortex Fusion technology to vacuum debris and other impurities from the pores. The levels of suction strength can be adjusted to best accommodate each patient’s extraction needs. This eliminates the need for manual extractions, which can be uncomfortable, time-consuming, and cause redness and irritation.

Step 4: Serum Booster
The handpiece will infuse a serum booster into the skin. Because the skin has been thoroughly cleansed, it will be able to penetrate deeply for optimal efficacy! There are a variety of boosters available to target specific skin concerns. Ingredients like peptides, Vitamin C, antioxidants, retinoids, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, and botanicals can help ensure your skin gets the boost it needs to look and feel its very best.

Treatments take under 30 minutes, so they’re easy to fit into even the busiest schedule. There is no redness, irritation, or peeling following a Hydrafacial, just glowing healthy skin. Patients can reapply makeup immediately after their facial is complete.

Results

After treatment, you will notice more supple, moisturized skin with a brighter, dewy appearance. Your skin will also feel smoother to the touch. These radiant results will be the most noticeable for about 5 to 7 days. That makes the Hydrafacial a great treatment to plan in preparation for events like weddings, or any occasion where you want a camera-ready glow. We recommend one treatment every four to six weeks in order to enjoy the full benefits of a Hydrafacial and maintain your results. Regular treatments can help manage acne, keep dry skin hydrated, and prevent signs of aging like wrinkles from advancing.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

The HydraFacial is a gentle procedure that can be combined with many other of The Retreat’s med spa treatments to attain a refreshed and rejuvenated visage. For example, it can be paired with injectables like Juvederm, Restylane, or Botox. If you’re interested in luscious lips, a Hydrafacial is a great way to prep lips for filler. The HydraPeel tip of the device can be used on the lips to exfoliate away dead skin from chapped lips. And, since a Hydrafacial cleanses and exfoliates, it’s a perfect primer, allowing other treatments better access to the deeper layers of the skin so that they can have optimal efficacy.

Cost of a Hydrafacial in Rockwell

Hydrafacials are an affordable investment in the health of your skin. Taking care of your skin can avoid premature aging and more invasive and costly procedures down the line. The price of a Hydrafacial treatment depends on the area you’re treating, the serum boosters you select, and whether you’ve chosen to include any additional treatments during your session
