IPL Photofacial
An IPL® Photofacial utilizes intense pulsed light to break down excess pigmentation in the skin without harming the surrounding tissues. The treatment is also recommended for scar revision. IPL® Photofacial treatments are most often performed in the facial area, but can also be beneficial for pigmentation problems on the body, such as the chest and hands.
Procedure
Dr. Baker uses the Lumecca system for IPL® Photofacial treatments. Intense pulsed light is administered in short bursts during the treatment. You may notice a slight stinging on the skin.

Recovery
Normal symptoms post-treatment are redness and mild swelling. You should avoid sunlight for the first seven days and use sunscreen when outdoors.
Results
Pigmentation reduction after an IPL® Photofacial is gradual. Full results can take up to three months. Using a high-quality sunscreen and limiting the time that you spend in the sunlight can help the results last longer.
